Hello everyone, I'm back! That was a long hiatus. But the Oscars are too glitzy to be missed. Especially when the ladies looked amazingly gorgeous, dewy skin, flowing gowns and dazzling smiles.
Blondes in Red
Katherine Heigl and Heidi Klum both chose eye-catching fiery blood-red for their Oscar dresses.
They looked dressed to kill, with the red nearly overshadowing their beautiful faces.
Katherine gets my vote here; doesn't she ooze Marilyn Monroe in this look? Watch out for this rising star! You almost forget she's the ditzy Izzie Stevens from Grey's Anatomy here.. Heidi reminds me of some fairy godmother or the Project Runway version of a Anna Wintour with the cape-like collar.
Diamonds, Pearls and Ivory
Renee Zellweger looks stunning in a glittering diamante strapless gown, Keri Russell rocks out in her pearly pink princess dress and Cameron Diaz poses for the cameras in her ivory-coloured dress. Picture perfect leading lady material.
Black and Strapless
Penelope Cruz and Jennifer Garner face off in similar looking black strapless dresses.
They both look gorgeous in them, the feathery bustline for Penelope's dress works well for her well-rounded tanned shoulders, and the long shoulder-duster earrings give a magical touch to her whole outfit.
I love the crinkled skirt hem on Jennifer's gown, but I'm not digging her side-swept fringe -- doesn't look very award-show hairdo to me.
Laura Linney and Lisa Rinna opted for the safe, black gown option, but looked nothing less than dignified and decidedly formal in them.
We're Preggers But We Still Look Damn Hot
It's preggers season! Cate Blanchett, Jessica Alba (with Cash Warren) and Nicole Kidman (with Keith Urban) look blissfully and glowingly gorgeous. Jessica looks much better with more meat around her arms, I think. And happiness is a great boost to a stunning photo moment. I love Cate's silky purple dress!
Toga Goddesses
Hilary Swank, Anne Hathaway, Amy Ryan and Olivia Thirlby all decked in their one-shoulderd gowns.
Anne came up tops with her bold choice of colour and the beautiful detail around the shoulder.
What's IN and OUT this sizzling summer!
IN
Short nails, peachy, ocean and bright tones for polish
(think strawberry kisses, pacific blue and tangerine orange)
Bandeau-style bikinis in hot pinks, forest greens and deep blues
(think Cameron Diaz)
Straw hats on the beach
Breezy dresses
Barefeet
OUT
Long nails, and dark reds and black for polish
Swimsuits that hide what your mama gave you
Caps with the netted part at the back and shiny gangsta letters on the front (ugh)
Skintight I-can't-breathe dresses
(think Lindsay Lohan's rainbow band dress)

What's Haawt at da SAGs
Long, soft, flowing goddess gowns are the premium choices for the SAGs lady attendees this year.
(L:R - Katherine Heigl, Eva Longoria, Jada Pinkett Smith, Sandra Oh)
Dazzlingly beautiful, sweet loving couples are aplenty on the red carpet.
(L:R - Ashton Kutcher & Demi Moore, Eva Longoria & Tony Parker, Jason Behr & Katherine Heigl, Stephen Kay & Teri Hatcher)
Light, au naturel faces are the way to go if you want to look gorgeous and shine-free for the red-carpet photos!
(L: R Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria, Ellen Pompeo, Katherine Heigl, Heather Graham)
...Deja Vu??
What the hell, seriously?
Julia Louis-Dreyfus (left) came to the SAGs in a bright red full-length strapless gown, carrying a rectangular clutch...
Isn't that reminiscent of what Rachel Weisz (right) wore to the Golden Globes just a few days ago???
What was she thinking! Stealing a look at the next award show is so not cool! (But at least, the sweetheart neckline suits her quite nicely)
Guess who's Back?
There are so many fashion trends in the past that we wish to bury deep underground and hope they rot and never resurrect again, i.e shoulder pads, rainbow tie-dye, neon tights, plasticky unwearable things. And then, there are much more of them that we would love for them to come back over and over and over again, like the same old wave crashing back onto the shore, bringing with it fresh foam and a big loud s-p-l-a-s-h.
Five Great Resurrections of Today (not counting Kylie's return to the music scene)
5. Wild animal prints
The roar of this trend is still resonating in our ears.
4. Platform stacked heels
Yay! To hell with stilettos, we can never walk properly in those teetering suckers. Uff.
3. Blunt straight bangs
Although this won't necessarily look good on everyone. You can try..at your own risk.
2. Wide legged trousers
Don't we ALL have a pair or ten locked up in our closet? And all the better to hide
flabby thighs after all the pigging out and non-exercise holidays that we have had
in the past couple of weeks.
1. Black and white combo
Dresses, shoes, bags, accessories...as long as you don't match it all over from head to
toe, making yourself look like a human zebra, this trend will almost look flattering
on anyone!
Top Spring Trends 2007

7. Flats (paired with skinny jeans or cropped pants)

Off you go now! Happy a-trotting in the spring breeze on a good ol' girlie shoppin' spree~
Two Thumbs Up for Sandra and Ellen!
They made vast improvements in their fashion tastes from the Emmys to the Globes.
Sandra traded her too many gaudy ornamental necklaces, bling-bling and all the orbs and crystals around her neck for a simpler, more understated, but none the less sexy fitting dress.
Ellen gave velvety plum a miss this time and opted for classic white this time round. Her hair is no longer combed up high like a cheerleader, and now a more romantic swept-up hairdo...great job!
Lilac + Gold = Evangeline's poison? Not quite so.
Evangeline Lilly seems to have embraced her adventurous side a tad TOO far when she graduated from a mono-tone dress to a duo-color frock...But now looking at the two side-by-side, the purple made Evangeline look older and more washed-out, while the lilac-gold combo gave her a more youthful, healthier, peachy glow.
I love Grey's Anatomy. Period.
From the dry sarcasm and dark humor, to the steamy McDreamy-Meredith scenes, to the neurotic George, Izzie and Cristina bitchin' dramas, to Mr. Preston Burke himself, Grey's Anatomy is my source of inspiration, motivation, laughter and moodiness.
Here are the Grey's Anatomy ladies, stripped of their scrubs and into their beautiful gowns:
---Ellen Pompeo stars as the whiny, indecisive, klutzy when it comes to love but very charming Dr. Grey. I just wish Meredith would marry her McDreamy and stop caterwauling about Derek already. If only Addison would divorce him..SOON.--
I love award shows. No, not watching them of course. It's the fashion, the glitz and thr glamour I love about it. Every year, this close to award show season, the air crackles with enough static to light up the entire Hollywood...well almost!
This year's Golden Globes has to be the best to date.
The Post Break-Up Ladies
These ladies have come a very long way. All three suffered shocking breakups over the past year, but managed to look so put-together and stunning for this great night! This just proves one thing: these ladies are independent sistas that don't need men to give them that extra glow of radiance!
Cameron looks gorgeous with her black hair (less ditzy but NO less California girl) and the tiered dress just adds height to her already-lanky frame. Way to go, Cam!
Drew's very toned (must have spent painstaking hours in the gym) and her skin is beautifully golden. She has never looked better! She's wearing her favorite John Galliano.
Reese oh Reese. She looks like a mere sixteen-year-old (and I mean it in a good, youthful way) in that sweet honey yellow Nina Ricci form-fitting gown, with her silky jet-straight blonde hair. (What was she thinking marrying Ryan Phillippe anyway??)
Best comebacks post-breakup:
Cameron Diaz (post Justin Timberlake)
Drew Barrymore (post Fabrizio Moretti)
Reese Witherspoon (post Ryan Phillippe)
The Stunning, The Beautiful, The Classic And The Refreshing
Renee Zellweger took a great leap of faith in herself when she chose to wear this turquoise-green vintage Dior gown, and her efforts paid off, cause she look fabulous in it. This gem color sets off her eyes perfectly and complements her skin tone.
Katherine Heigl's gown is simply one word: B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L. From the layerings to the foldings, to the way her toned arms and shoulders peeked out of the ebony Escada dress, to her immaculately coiffed hair...
Mischa Barton didn't have to make a 'Worst Dressed' mistake to learn to dress like a proper lady. The long black dress is a safe albeit boring choice, but at least she looks understated, classic and fantastic.
(Reese's fashion mistake last year --wearing a dress Kirsten Dunst already wore in 2003-- made her much wiser this time around.)
Hilary Swank gives the award show a breath of fresh air with her crisp look, the flower in the hair. Well, you can't go wrong wearing Chanel Haute Couture. I must say, it's very...swanky. Heh.
Most Stunning Color: Renee Zellweger
Most Beautiful gown: Katherine Heigl
Most Classic Look: Mischa Barton
Most Refreshing Look: Hilary Swank
Most Desirable Couple - Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
This obviously goes without saying, and I'm sure many heads are nodding vehemently and unanimously right now as I say this, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt ARE the best looking couple at the awards show, and out of it in the real world as well.
Angelina's dark-gray full-length gown made her huge gorgeous eyes pop, and she looks every bit the classy and competent humanitarian-model-actress-mom that she is. Brad is the best fashion accessory any woman can have and there she got him, hanging onto her arm...
What else can I say, they're simply... Picture-perfect.
Honorable Mentions
Oriental beauties Yunjin Kim (from LOST) and Sandra Oh (from Grey's) attacked the red carpet in white and black, the hottest color this season...looking va-va voom and very tasteful. Yunjin could have brought it up a notch with
voluminous curls, and Sandra for once could let her hair down AND laugh, after all the bitching and surgery scenes she did as Cristina from the winning drama series Grey's Anatomy. Penelope Cruz and Jennifer Lopez are two hot latina mamas, dressed to kill in sexy black. Take that, Mr. Cruise and Mr. Affleck! Rachel Weisz looks spicy delicious in all red. All thumbs up for these fashion-savvy ladies.
Fashion Disasters
How these leading ladies and leggy models ended up here is beyond me. Look at Beyonce's frightful metallic ensemble and you'll think she's wearing some sort of an armour dress. With her bodylicious curves, she could almost have gotten away with anything....except THAT. Maybe she really needs Michelle and Kelly to coordinate their outfits (remember the times when Destiny's Child would go anywhere in matching dresses) so she could wear something sensible, chic and not so in-your-face. Her only saving grace? Her perfectly toned arms.
Evangeline Lilly, a Canadian beauty best known for her role as Kate in TV series LOST, stumbled onto the red carpet in a sickly combination of lilac and gold. She sure looks very err...lost in that ragadelic frock. But her angelic smile and luscious brown hair managed to bring her back to the shore.
Ugh! You'd think she would have MORE fashion sense than most other ladies due to her profession and regular stint as host-judge on Project Runway.
Heidi Klum looks like a pregnant bride in this too-white gown, like she's dipped into white paint from her shoulders down. She could have tossed the white long gloves and do the gown some justice.
**Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen should be here too, but their choice of fashion is so scary I can't bear to put the twins up here. They sure need a rest after treating the Globes like a second Halloween party.
